Information about the Governing Body

The role of the governing body is to actively support the school in achieving an excellent standard of education.

The governors do their main work in three committees, which are, Resources, Ethos & Compliance and Standards & Learning. All committees meet regularly throughout the year and report back on their progress and matters arising at the full governors meetings.  The full governing body formally meets five times a year. 

The Instrument of Government comprises of the following:

  • 3 Parent governors
  • 1 LA governor
  • 1 Staff governors
  • 1 Head Teacher
  • 3 Foundation governor
  • 3 Co-Opted governors
All governor positions term of office is 4 years.
 
We currently have 2 vacancies, a Co-Opted Governor and LA Governor.

The Governing Body endeavours to take a strategic role, act as a critical friend to the School and be accountable for its decisions.
 
Committees:
 
Standards & Learning meet to ensure quality provision, challenging and supporting the teaching and learning in school so that pupils can make the best possible progress.
 
Ethos & Compliance monitors and reviews policies and procedures and ensures the school is acting in accordance with statutory regulations.
 
Resources supports and challenges the school to ensure that resources (both physical and human) are of high quality and are implemented in accordance with the financial regulations.
