Information for parents/carers

These are extraordinary times and the challenges of living through a pandemic are very real for us all. I would like to thank you for your support this week and for your openness and honest communication.

As far as we are aware, no one else in the school community has tested positive for Covid-19. However, it is important that year 2 and year 6 children continue to self- isolate until 14th October. Work is being provided for them by class teachers (our Remote Learning Policy is on our website). All children in these year groups must login to remote learning every day and complete work; new government guidelines make this mandatory so please make us aware of any problems accessing this.

As soon as any school receives notification of a positive test result from a child in school or from a member of staff, the following happens:

  • The Head teacher contacts the Department for Education who provide instructions of what must be done, including closing ‘bubbles.’
  • The Department for Education then contact the Health Protection Team who in turn contact the school to ensure procedures are being followed.

We have to adhere to strict rules and guidance, balancing our dedication to a high quality education with the need to keep our community safe.

It is our duty to ensure all children who should be attending are attending so please phone the school and speak to me if, for any reason, your child is not attending but they are not in the Y2 and Y6 bubbles.

Once again, Team Norton and I would like to thank you for your support as we navigate these new processes.

If the school receives notification that one of its pupils receives a positive Covid-19 test the following letter will be sent out to all pupils within that child's bubble.
