School Vision

Our School Vision

‘Those who are wise will shine like the sky and those who lead others to goodness will shine like the stars forever’ Daniel 12:3

At our school, we believe that every child is a shining light, unique and valued. Our motto, “We all shine like stars,” reflects our commitment to nurturing wisdom, kindness, and faith in all we do.

Through our school houses—Strive, Think, Act and Respect (STARS)—we encourage our children to shine: work hard, be thoughtful, make positive choices, show respect, and let their light shine brightly. Rooted in Christian values, we aim to inspire every child to grow in confidence, character, and love, making a difference in our school, community, and beyond.

Strive

that our children lead happy and fulfilled lives through seeing the best in others and in themselves; they are resilient, forward looking and appreciative

Think

that our children have the essential knowledge, skills and behaviours to guarantee that they thrive in modern Britain; the wisdom to preserve the beauty of our planet; the wisdom to make informed, positive decisions

Act

that our children celebrate differences and value everyone in our Norton family and wider community; they celebrate belonging to a local, national and international community and they expect inclusion

Respect

our children know that everyone has the right to be themselves. Norton is a place where everyone can feel safe, be happy and learn. Everyone at our school is equal and acts with respect and kindness towards each other. Our children respect themselves and are proud to be part of an inclusive school.

Our Pebble Bowl

At Norton, we have a special pebble bowl where each pebble represents every member of our school community—both children and staff. Just as every star in the sky shines uniquely, each pebble is different, symbolizing our individuality while reminding us that we all belong and matter equally.

When someone becomes part of our Norton school community they place a pebble in the bowl. When the time comes for them to sadly leave our Norton family they take a pebble with them so they know they will always be a part of our family and community.

Strive

that our children lead happy and fulfilled lives through seeing the best in others and in themselves; they are resilient, forward looking and appreciative
