Norton Little Learners provides a safe and stimulating environment for children aged 3 and 4 years old. With a real passion for Early Years, the staff share the same aim of wanting the children to learn and develop whilst having lots of fun! Through a mixture of child initiated and adult planned activities we ensure the children are well supported to develop and reach their goals. We believe that all Children are powerful learners. Every child can make progress in their learning, with the right help In Little Learners we understand the importance of working closely with and alongside the children’s parents/carers to best support their development. It is important for parents and early years settings to have a strong and respectful partnership. This sets the scene for children to thrive in their Early Years. We have themed ‘open mornings/afternoons’ where family members are welcome to come in and play. Each child has their own learning journey. This is shared with parents/carers and we welcome any input. Regular assessments are carried out within the setting and are shared with parents/carers to ensure we are all working together towards the achieve the same goals. Opportunities are provided for parents/carers to meet with their key person to discuss their child’s development.
Activities are planned based around the Early Years Foundation stage framework. Little Learners follow an ambitious and carefully sequenced curriculum, which builds learning over time. It has been designed and created alongside our Reception Teacher, with the aim to develop, enhance and promote a strong foundational knowledge of key skills and areas of learning. Our curriculum also supports children to have the best start possible, ensuring our Little Learners are ready for transition to start school at Reception age. Our aim is to deliver high quality learning through play and creativity, running a golden thread of foundational knowledge through all of our planned and child-initiated activities. Little Learners are introduced to Early Phonics sessions through learning Phase 1 phonics. This is delivered through our Phonics programme; Unlocking Letters and Sounds. We also explore and promote healthy development of children’s Personal, Social and Emotional development through the delivery of My Happy Mind sessions.

Opening Hours
Our sessions run Monday to Friday (term time only) between;
8:45am - 11:45 (Morning session) Monday to Friday
11:45am - 2:45pm (afternoon session) Monday to Friday
8:45am - 2:45pm (Full day session) Monday to Friday
There is an option for children to stay an extra 30 minutes until 3:15pm (this helps with
collecting children that attend the school). Additional charge applies.
If you require childcare between the hours of 8am until 5:00pm/5:30pm we offer the before and after school club to children attending Norton Little Learners. You can find more information under the tab for before and after school club.
